Allegan County offers overnight warming shelters

 

With temperatures forecast to be the lowest in decades for several days, Allegan County offers warming shelters with overnight accommodations:

 

ALLEGAN

Camp Beechpoint

3212 125th Avenue, Allegan, MI 49010

Warming Center Hours:

            Tuesday 10  – Friday morning

Beds, blankets, and meals are included.

Eligibility Requirements:

            No smoking in facility

            No alcohol/drugs on premises

            No weapons

            No pets

 

First Presbyterian Church

200 Cutler Street, Allegan, MI 49010

Warming Center Hours:

            Tuesday 10 – Friday morning

            Wednesday free lunch will be offered as usual.

Beds, blankets, and meal are included.

Eligibility Requirements:

            No smoking in facility

            No alcohol/drugs on premises

            No weapons

            No pets

 

First Congregational Church

            Tuesday 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday

            Wednesday 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday

            Thursday 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday

            Thursday dinner will be offered as usual.

            Tuesday 9 a.m. through services Thursday night

Beds, blankets and meals provided.

DAYTIME WARMING CENTERS

First Baptist Allegan

1290 32nd Street, Allegan, MI 49010
Warming center hours:

            Wednesday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

            Thursday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements:

            No smoking in building

            No alcohol/drugs

            No weapons

            No pets

 

Plainwell Public Safety is opening the public safety building as a warming station from now through Saturday, Feb. 2. They are located at 119 Island Avenue (off Allegan Street- M-89 by the old paper mill). Those who need assistance getting to the warming station can call 269-685-9858.

   

The Saugatuck Fire District will be a temporary warming shelter 24/7 until Friday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
