Man flees from Police and crashes into power pole in Caledonia

A 53-year-old Barry County man crashed a car into a Caledonia power pole after fleeing from police, then threatened self-harm as police closed in, according to a report from M-live.

 

State police said they tried to arrest the Nashville man in Barry County but he fled in a car.

Police terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.  A short time later, the car crashed along Kraft Avenue SE just south of 76th Street.

 

According to the report, police arrived to find the man threatening self-harm with a knife. They were able to take him into custody without further incident.
