Monday June 6th...It was 78 year ago on that day Allied Forces under the Command of General Dwight Eisenhower  landed on five seperate beachheads in Normandy France in 1944 to free Europe from the Grip of Nazi Germany in Operation Overlord...D-Day.

On May 7, 1945 Germany unconditionally surrendered to the Allies in Reims, France ending World War Two.
