The Barry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred Friday morning at the intersection of M-66 highway and Guy Road in Maple Grove Township.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling northeast on M-66. The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver and sole occupant was a 32 year old female from Vermontville. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
The crash remains under investigation. Drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
