National Weather Service says EF-1 Tornado hit Barry County

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has confirmed a tornado in Barry County from Thursday’s storms.

According to the National Weather Service, an EF1 tornado touched down in Barry County near Heron Pointe. The tornado had estimated winds around 100 miles per hour and stayed on the ground for 6.75 miles.

The tornado crossed the most southern part of Gun Lake and moved northeast near Otis Sanctuary. Damage included several trees down and homes with minor roof damage. Several docks in Gun Lake saw damage as well.
