Board of Commissioners meeting, Household Hazardous Waste

The Barry County Board of Commissioners met Monday and among items of business,  they approved the 2026 agreement for Remonumentation Services and Surveyor agreement, grant administrator agreement, and appointments to the Peer Review Board.

 

Following a presentation by Rachel Frantz, Recycling Coordinator for the county, the Commission also approved a 1-year agreement with the Kent County Department of Public Works to allow Barry County residents to utilize the Byron Center Safe Chem Household Hazardous Waste drop off facility up to a total of $7,800 in 2026.  Vouchers to use the service will be available through the Barry County Recycles website.

 

The 2026 Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held at the Barry Expo Center/Fairgrounds this Saturday, May 2 from 9 am - 3 pm. It will be the only waste collection event this year and registration is required.   To register online, go to  barrycountyrecycles.org
