Barry County Pheasants Forever Banquet

Pheasants Forever is one of the largest, most successful wildlife conservation groups in the country.  They're growing, because 92% of the money they raise is spent on pheasant habitat right here in Barry County.  You can help come to the local Pheasants Forever banquet on Saturday, February 25th.  Call Jim Decker at 269-838-3210 for ticket information. 

Family Science Night

From 6:00AM to 8:00AM

A magical, hands-on adventure into the world of science will be found at the Hastings Public Library on Wednesday, February 22nd from 6-8 pm. Hastings Public Library, Pierce Cedar Creek Institute & Great Start Collaborative have prepared two hours of STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fun for everyone in the family from Pre-School and older. As Claire Norris & Lindsay Meeker demonstrate, science can be intriguing and not limited to a school classroom. Many area organizations, including Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Barry Conservation District, Battle Creek Outdoor Education Center, Kalamazoo Astronomical Society, and teens from both Hastings Science Olympiad and Hastings FFA are gathering to introduce your family to their ideas of science in daily life. From petting live animals to playing with construction methods, and from using sewing machines to making take home Slime and bouncy balls, the evening promises to be a chance to see the science in a fun and interesting way.

Alzheimer's Assoc. Lunch & Learn Sign up today

The Alzheimer's Association will present a Lunch & Learn Workshop Tuesday, March 6th at the Barry County Commission On Aging, 320 W. Woodlawn Avenue in Hastings from 10am til 1pm.

A Service fair begins at 10am followed by Service Presentations, lunch at 11:30am  and A "Know The Signs" Presentation at 11:40 by the Alzheimer's Assocaition.

Sign up for Lunch by Feb. 28, 2017.  Lunch is $2.00 for people age 60 or better and $4.00 for those under age 60.  There will be no congregate dining on March 6th,   To sign up call the Barry COA at 269-948-4856.

Caleb's Closet

From 2:00PM to 6:00PM

Caleb's Closet is a non profit organization started in memory of Caleb Duley, a 5yr old who was killed in a traffice accident. Caleb's Closet provides free clothing for anyone in need. It also provides baby formula, blankets, diapers an other items for infants. Caleb's Closet is located in the basement of Community Baptist Church, 502 East Grand Street in Hastings. It is open to the public Wednesday's from 2 to 6pm and the last Saturday of the month. from 1-4pm.

Yoga class
