Freeport-Pancake Breakfast @ Fire Department

From 7:00AM to 11:00AM

The Freeport Area Volunteer Fire Department will serve a Pancake Breakfast, with eggs, sausage, juice, milk & coffee this morning from 7am til 11am at the Freeport Fire Department, 100 State St. in Freeport.  Your Free Will donation will help purchase a new Brush Truck.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church located at 315 W. Center Street in Hastings invites you to breakfast every Saturday! Serving from 8:00am to 9:30am in the Parish house. You will always find eggs, breakfast meat, Breakfast potatoes, cereal, fresh fruit, breakfast bars, pancakes or French toast or biscuits and gravy, juice and plenty of coffee. W.K. Kellogg Annual Maple Syrup Open House

From 12:00PM to 5:00PM

Hickory Corners, Mich. - It’s time for another year of sugaring and liquid sunshine! Come to the W.K. Kellogg Experimental Forest on March 18th, from 12pm to 5pm for the annual Maple Syrup Open House. 

The open house will include activities for kids like decorating wooden “cookies” and sugar bush games, wagon rides, and tours of the sugar bush where they’ll talk about the history of maple syrup in Michigan and the process of maple syrup production.

Best of all, they will be selling their new Spartan Pure Maple Syrup! Get the family together and come on out and join them! The cost for entry is $1 per car. The Forest is located at 7060 N. 42nd St., in Augusta. Contact the Forest office with questions at 269-731-4597.

 

Barry County Food Drive today

Leadership Barry County Class of 2017 members will be at multiple locations today distributing information and tote bags and collecting donations at; Central Elementary, Hastings Middle School and Star Elementary from 9am to 1pm Collecting Non Parshible food for local Food Pantries.  They also will collect food at Hastings Family Fare from 11am to 12pm and at Hastings Walmart from 11am to 2pm.  Just look for the Barry County YMCA Van or another vehicle marked with FILL OUR FOOD PANTRY, 

 

* Pasta and Rice A Roni, Spam, Hamber/Tuna Helper, vegetable soups, instant coffee, canned chili without beans and corned beef hash are needed.

 Also non food items needed:  paper products, hygiene items, feminine products and baby items.
