Traffic crashes across the state are on the rise according to the Michigan State Police. Fatal crashes have gone up by a total of 34 percent and serious injury crashes have increased by 27 percent.

 Lt. DuWayne Robertson tells us Michigan is traveling more again and there is more traffice out there.

Statistic collected showed Kalamazoo County had more total fatal crashes than any other counties in the region including Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, St.Joseph and Van Buren counties.

Speed is also a factor.
