James L. Withiem age 92 of Hastings. This amazing man sang his way into heaven on Sunday July 22, 2018 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born on March 16, 1926 in Oblong, Illinois to Bradley and Hallie Withiem.
James was a minister since 1960, having the distinct pleasure of officiating at many family members marriages. He served his country during WWII in the Navy.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Orphie Mable Withiem; brothers and sisters; daughter, Vicki Lynn Garrett; grandson, Timothy Lawrence Nevers and a great grandchild, Bryanna Nichol.
He was survived by wife, Patricia; children, Betty (Gene) Nevers, Mitzi Hyatte and Rhonda (Larry) Vincent; step-daughter, Chelle Kenyon, grandchildren, Genia, Jamie, Michael, Nichole, Bradley, Melissa, Jeremy, Tonya and Chelsea; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Withiem.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Lauer Family Funeral Home – Wren Chapel in Hastings. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Hastings Free Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Teed officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
