Obituaries Archives for 2023-07

Bayne Christopher Signeski

Bayne Christopher Signeski, age 18, of Hastings MI passed away unexpectedly on July 08, 2023.

Bayne was born in Kalamazoo MI on November 2, 2004. The son of Shannon Rybiski and Kevin Signeski.

He was raised in the Hastings area and attended Hastings Schools, graduating with the Class of 2023.

As a young athlete, Bayne participated in football and basketball, but eventually followed in his brother Xander’s footsteps and found a home on the soccer field. During the first game of his freshman season, he scored the first goal during a rainy game. He continued to play soccer until his junior year when he suffered a knee injury, mid-season, requiring surgery. Which caused him to lose out on his junior year of track also. He worked hard in physical therapy and returned to soccer his senior season.

Bayne participated and excelled at Track & Field as a sprinter specializing in the 100- & 200-Meter events, receiving the “Guts” award and MVP of sprints during his sophomore year. Due to his knee injury, which prevented him from sprinting his senior year, he still wanted to contribute to the team and refocused his energy on the Shotput and Discus events. This “new path” also gave him the opportunity to mentor and watch his younger sister as she began her high school track & field career.

During his high school years Bayne worked at Mexican Connexion and Culvers in Hastings where he made many friends with co-workers and customers alike.

After graduating, Bayne took a job with his father Kevin at Challenge Manufacturing in Holland MI, saving money to begin the next chapter of his life, attending Ferris State University. Following the inspiration of his Uncle Kurt, Bayne aspired to complete a degree in social work as a school counselor.

During his “spare” time, Bayne enjoyed playing online video games with his brother and various friends which often resulted in competitive interactions not only on their headsets, but from as close as their bedrooms! He enjoyed making and editing YouTube videos, drawing and spending time with friends.

Bayne is survived by his mother Shannon (Jay) Rybiski, father Kevin Signeski, brother Xander Signeski, sister Avayla Rybiski, grandparents, many aunts, uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle Kurt Signeski, his grandmother Diane Davis, and grandfather Marv Signeski.

The family invites friends and family to celebrate Bayne’s life on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 2:30 PM till 5:30 PM at The Legacy at Hastings located at 1550 North Broadway, Hastings, MI 49058.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hastings High School Boys Soccer Program through the Athletic Boosters.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Daniels Funeral Home – Hastings, conveniently located at 1401 North Broadway, Hastings, MI. For further details please visit our website at www.danielsfuneralhome.net
