Albert "Pete" Montague
Pete was born to Ernest and Eva (Gay) Montague on October 29th, 1931, in Hastings. He worked at Meyer’s Five & Dime store from age 6-19 as a stock boy.
Pete served as a corporal in the US Army from 1952-1954 in Germany.
He also worked at Lawrence L P Gas Company and Fuel Gas in Hastings for 41 years. Pete married Weda Messer of Shelbyville on March 11th, 1955. They had one daughter, Sharon [Keith] Pratt.
Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Pete was a born-again Christian, and loved serving God and telling people about Jesus, whom he adored so much. No one ever remained a stranger for long to Pete, and he loved to share the three things he had in common with everyone: “We all form relationships, some good, some bad. We all create memories, some good, some bad. We all make choices, some good, some bad. Have you made a choice to serve Jesus?”
Pete is survived by his son-in-law Keith, many nieces and nephews, brother- and sister-in-laws, and many wonderful friends.
