Albert "Pete" Montague

Albert Dale Montague, “Pete”, of Hastings, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 92.

Pete was born to Ernest and Eva (Gay) Montague on October 29th, 1931, in Hastings. He worked at Meyer’s Five & Dime store from age 6-19 as a stock boy.

Pete served as a corporal in the US Army from 1952-1954 in Germany.

He also worked at Lawrence L P Gas Company and Fuel Gas in Hastings for 41 years. Pete married Weda Messer of Shelbyville on March 11th, 1955. They had one daughter, Sharon [Keith] Pratt.

Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Pete was a born-again Christian, and loved serving God and telling people about Jesus, whom he adored so much. No one ever remained a stranger for long to Pete, and he loved to share the three things he had in common with everyone: “We all form relationships, some good, some bad. We all create memories, some good, some bad. We all make choices, some good, some bad. Have you made a choice to serve Jesus?”

Pete is survived by his son-in-law Keith, many nieces and nephews, brother- and sister-in-laws, and many wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Daniels Funeral Home - Hastings, MI conveniently located at 1401 North Broadway in Hastings.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Daniels Funeral Home – Hastings.

Interment will take place at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI following the funeral service with full military honors.

Glora Janene Anderson

Glora Janene Anderson, 73, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was called to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, June 16th, 2024. She was daughter of the late Wayne and Hazel (Hammer) Worden. Glora was born July 12th, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She attended Climax-Scotts Community Schools in Michigan. In 1976, she was united in marriage to husband Dennis Anderson. He preceded her in death in November of 2003. They enjoyed 27 years together.

 

Glora is survived by three beloved children Dawn Johnson and her fiancé’ Amos Sollinger; Christopher Marie Anderson and his wife, Marie, and Russell (Michelle) Anderson and his wife, Michelle. She was blessed with many grandchildren, Jeremy (Lissa) Hause, Amanda Johnson, Christina Anderson, Austin (Nikki) Anderson, Ryan (Hannah) Anderson, Lauren Johnson, Andrew (Keara) Anderson and and Nicholas Anderson. Great-grandchildren Natalie, Kylee, Oakley, Brooklyn, Paisley, Rennlie, Layson, Bryson, Rayann, Addy, and Aubrey. Siblings: Carolyn Cook, Sandra Worden and Joseph Worden (brothers Henry and Leslie preceded her in death). She also leaves behind two special friends: Sandy Snyder and Rose Hendershot.

Glora worked at GHS Strings in Battle Creek, MI, Pennock Hospital in Hastings, MI and was owner of Granny’s General Store in Hastings, MI before retiring to the mountains of Kentucky.

 

Glora enjoyed gardening, crocheting, volunteering, and her greatest passion was travel. She especially enjoyed mission trips to Latvia and experiencing the Holy Land. She served as a Den Mother with Cub Scouts of America and delivered senior meals at the Commission of Aging. She taught Sunday school at Country Chapel Methodist Church in Dowling, MI. She served as a trustee at Stoner Creek Church and looked forward volunteering at their Cox Lodge and Clothing Closet in Campbellsville, KY.

 

Celebrations of Life will take place at Stoner Creek Church, Campbellsville KY on June 22nd, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and at Country Chapel, Dowling, MI on July 13th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.

 

Donations in her memory can be made to the: Glora Anderson Memorial Fund for continued support of her siblings and pursuit of her dreams for the Cox Lodge and Clothes Closet at Stoner Creek Church.
